Does The Low Tech Sticky Brick Hold Up Against High Tech Vaporizers
Sticky Brick Labs
You mite wonder given the advancements in herbal vaporizer technology, could a vaporizer that involves such basic tech that has been around for over 50 years come close to the performance that is produced from such vaporizers as the mighty, firefly 2 and other cutting edge vapes.
The answer to this is very surprising. The Sticky Brick Labs range produce some of the most potent vapour I have ever experienced. It does hit a little hot but the vapour production is on another level. You can expect great performance from all Sticky Bricks. That is clear now but like most vapes it has its pros and cons. And while I believe everyone should own at least one Sticky Brick. Should you actually choose this over it's more advanced counterparts.
Pros
Forever Yours
The basic design of the Sticky Brick has one clear advantage over all high tech vaporizers. That is that their is very little that can be broken on this vaporizer. Only glass and this can be easily replaced. And with a lifetime warranty on the hardwood body the Sticky Brick is yours for life.
True On Demand Convection Heating
The Sticky Brick as you may already know is powered by a butane torch. As fast as you can pull the trigger on your lighter is as fast as you will have heat. There simply isn't another vaporizer out there that can better this heat up time.
Enjoyable Functionality
All Sticky Brick vaporizers are made up of hardwood blocks that are held together by strong magnets. It is an absolute joy to pull apart and snap back together. This is a vaporizer you may find yourself pulling apart and putting back together even when unnecessary.
Woodtastically Beautiful
There is something about the natural material of wood that breaths a unique character into each and every sticky brick. It feels great in the hand and you can be sure your sticky brick is one of a kind with no other with quite the same grain as yours.
Big Boy Vapour Production
Strap on your big boy pants the entire Sticky brick range has the power to take you to places you never thought possible. This can sometimes take you by surprise as you may dip the torch a bit lower then usual. If you are someone who likes giant clouds sticky bricks should definitely make it onto your short list.
Respectable Full Spectrum Flavour
With how Sticky Bricks work your herb is in no way heated prior to inhalation. This means that no terps are wasted as it heats up. It is at lower temperatures that most of the flavour is released. This is where most conduction vaporizers struggle when it comes to flavour. Through your Sticky Brick you get all it has to offer. But does however take some skill to find that perfect spot in which the flavours really shine.
Cons
Occasional Miss Hits
This may vary from user to user but from personal experience I occasionally will either under do it or over do it. This can be problematic if expected a light hit then all of a sudden your blowing out this monstrous cloud that seals your afternoon to a less productive one. Vice versa the opposite can happen and you can end up blowing out nothing when you are looking for that full noise crazy big cloud that you know the sticky brick can bring. The more you use it though the less this happens.
Never Quite As Clean As New
Most vaporizers today can easily be cleaned out to near new with isopropyl. With your Sticky Brick you do not have this luxury. Only the glass parts can be cleaned out in this way. Extra care needs to be taken when cleaning the wood parts and is unlikely that a new appearance on the inside vapour path is achievable. This does not effect function and as long as a proper cleaning regime is applied no unwanted taste or flavour should effect the quality of the vapour produced.
Vapour On The Hot Side
This could be seen as a pro or con depending on your own personal taste. The Sticky Brick originated as a direct draw vaporizer and given you a firing a butane torch straight in at your herb residual heat is still present when it hits your mouth. This is not a overwhelming heat and personally it is refreshing to be able to really feel the vapour you are inhaling. This trait is often seen as a con but is exactly what you want if you are coming straight from smoking to vaporizing. If you do happen to be sensitive to warm vapour then sticky brick have a couple of water filtered options like the Flip Brick, HydroBrick Maxx and the water pipe adapter for the Junior Sticky Brick.
For me personally the cons are hardly worth a thought when compared to how brilliant this entire range of Sticky Bricks is.
